Friday I had a good example of what difference an extensive paint touch up can make for a potential purchaser buying from a traditional dealer vs. the Carmax experience. I bought a car from Carmax so I now know exactly how they operate and what reconditioning they do...a post for another day but, no surprise, it’s very little.

A 2013 Hyundai with 70k which had apparently talked shit on some rocks and their friends:

After I started I realized it was a good photo opp. In photo, left side partially done.

Looks nice. I’ve discovered that the rumors about Subaru paint are true. Every rock chip isn’t a surface scratch. E ach and every one goes down to the primer. Living in Louisiana with its lax laws on loads and poor enforcement , there are lots of rocks on the highways to screw up your paint.

I just wanted to let you know that I downloaded the Root app. These $600+ per month quotes from agencies that accept me are really bothering me.

The problem right now is that driving is miserable in my current physical condition, and my policy is up in two weeks. I went to the doctor to make sure I was just having cold symptoms, and I didn’t feel good driving. It’ll be hard to get myself out, but honestly, what would I be willing to do to potentially save $200+/month compared to the competition?
